Dear Peirce Parent/Guardian,
The teachers at Peirce work hard every day to ensure that our students are equipped with the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to succeed in high school and beyond. Chicago Public Schools uses the Northwest Evaluation Association’s (NWEA) Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) computerized adaptive assessment as a district-wide assessment. The end of year (EOY) MAP assessment is set to begin soon. EOY MAP is important as it gives teachers valuable information to show how our students have reached their end of year academic growth target. The EOY MAP assessment for students in 2nd to 8th grade will begin on May 14th and be completed by June 15th. Students will have two test sessions total - one for Math and the other for Reading. As we prepare for this, we wanted to inform you that we are scheduling the testing to ensure maximized time for instruction. The following will be the testing dates for each grade level: 2nd Grade, Rooms 223, 224 & 228 2nd Grade, Room 225 June 5th-6th June 7th-8th 3rd Grade May 22nd-23rd 4th Grade June 6th-7th 5th Grade May 30th-31st 6th-8th Grades May 22nd-25th We ask that you please have your children to school on time and well rested, so that they are ready to do their best for this assessment. We recognize that you may have additional questions about MAP Assessments.
